This morning, the snow started before I got up. Our plan was to get in a run this morning before the heaviest of the snow started to fall. So, I was at work a half hour earlier to get out on the roads. Luckily we have a place to run with limited traffic, so that wasn't a worry at all.
The snow was falling, but wasn't that heavy. About an inch of two was on the ground, and it was the kind of snow that's perfect for running (if there is such a thing). Each step, and you could feel the snow compact and "crunch" under your foot. When there's no traffic, you can almost hear the snow as it hits the ground.
The only negatives this morning, were the temp and the wind. It was only 18 degrees, and with the 8 mph wind it was a wind chill of 7 degrees. Brrrrr. Worse than the wind chill, was the feel of the snow hitting my face, it felt like tiny needles as the snow came in contact with my face. Thank goodness I wasn't running into the wind for the whole run.
Of course the fun part was the reaction of my co-workers once I finished. They all thought I was crazy, but I guess today I confirmed it.
Today's mileage - 5.00 / Total for year - 111.09
